In 2023, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble commissioned composers to create musical duets for young students to perform with their teachers. The compositions incorporate graphic scores, game pieces, and traditionally notated works, bringing together musicians of all levels through a unique journey into contemporary music and art. shapes songs is an illustrated score book, consisting of the commissioned scores, as well as 16 striking illustrations created by four talented Hong Kong artists, curated by the team at Hong Kong Open Printshop.
